Kurt Scott joined VISTA Staffing Solutions with 21 years of physician recruitment experience, including more than a decade of in-house physician recruitment leadership experience with one of the nation's top-10 integrated health delivery systems — Geisinger Health System. Growing the department from two employees to seven, Kurt developed first-hand understanding of the challenges in-house recruiters face and the scope of services needed to be most effective. He’s also experienced frustrations working with traditional physician search firms, which require a large retainer upfront and may, or may not, produce results.
"There is tremendous opportunity to build partnerships in this part of the physician staffing industry," Kurt says. "At VISTA we are focused on aligning incentives and sharing risk with clients so the process is more rewarding for everyone involved. The importance of success and retention can't be overstated, and physician search contracts should reflect that."
Kurt is past president of the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters, where he was active in training new in-house physician recruiters. He also has past experience consulting with departments across the country to help them develop staff, systems, and tools to help them meet the increasing demands recruiting programs face.
